Library Closures Due to COVID-19

All Pickering Public Library locations are closed until May 3, 2020 (inclusive).

Pickering Public Library is offering support to our clients via email during the current library closure. If you need remote assistance with anything Library or technology related, email us at [email protected] and we will happily get back to you as soon as we can.

All Library programs will be cancelled until and including May 31.

Any Library specific updates will continue to be posted on this page.

Status update on operations:
Following the Province of Ontario’s order to close publicly funded schools until April 5, 2020, the City of Pickering will be supporting the government’s efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 by closing public facilities, including the library.

  • All public City of Pickering facilities are closed until May 3, 2020 (inclusive). This includes the Pickering Public Library (all locations). Any updates regarding the City’s response to COVID-19 will be communicated online at pickering.ca.
  • All room bookings at the Pickering Public Library are cancelled until May 3, 2020 (inclusive). Full refunds will be issued for any rentals that are cancelled as a result of this closure.
  • All due dates for loaned items have been extended one week beyond our current scheduled opening date. Please hold onto your loaned items, all drop boxes are currently closed.
  • Library material holds will be extended. Check your online record for revised hold expiry dates.
