Eating Well: Clearing Up The Myths and Misconceptions About Food

Food and water are vital components in our overall health. Yet with the proliferation of diets such as the Paleo diet and the Mediterranean diet, celebrity-endorsed cleanses and media coverage about "Super Foods", it is difficult to clear up these myths and misconceptions and determine what we should be eating.
In our next session of The Commons, Dr. Natalie McCulloch, H.BKin., ND, of the Durham Natural Health Centre and Registered Dietician, Lisa Ireland, B.A. Sc., RD will talk about food, making healthy food choices, what the optimum foods for our bodies are and clear up the confusion about what we should eat.
At the Central Library:
Wednesday, June 3rd from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

What are the issues that matter to Pickering residents?

The Library will continue to provide a venue for compelling formal and informal presentations, community discussions, panel discussion and debates on topics that matter to local residents. Topics can cover social, political or cultural ideas; they can be serious or light-hearted, timely or timeless.
Express your views, ignite debate, create conversations, and get involved in the opportunity for community idea sharing and discovery. We're looking for inspiring speakers, presenters and topics.

If you or your organization would like to get involved in The Commons, or have suggestions for future topics send us a message to [email protected], or send a text to 905-706-1634.
