Fantasy Author James Oliver Rigney, Jr. (a.k.a. Robert Jordan) Dies at Age 58
James Oliver Rigney, Jr. (a.k.a. Robert Jordan), famous author of fantasy fiction most notably for his series entitled "The Wheel of Time", died on September 16th of a rare blood disease. He was 58.
Mr. Rigney also wrote the Fallon Trilogy under the pen name of Reagan O'Neal. He was also responsible for writing several of the new Conan the Barbarian books including Conan the Destroyer, Conan the Magnificent, Conan the Triumphant, and Conan the Victorious (Compilation of three books in one volume). Apparantly he was dictating plot lines almost to the very end. So don't lose hope fans, the last book should be published, if probably not as good as it could be.
Free Management Training for Small Businesses
The Pickering Public Library has recently been awarded a provincial grant in order to expand our service to the business community and to create a management training program and self-study collection free of barriers. With this grant, the Library has arranged to have instructors from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) deliver FREE management training courses for Pickering small buisinesses at the Pickering Central Library.
