The Pickering Public Library now has 12 Junior Maker Kits available in the Maker Space of the Central Library.
Maker Kits are designed to facilitate learning and play for all ages and skill levels.
Each Kit comes with a piece of new technology, accessories if required, and some instructions to help get you started.
Junior Maker Kits teach STEAM-related concepts like coding, robotics, electronics, drawing, and engineering in a fun and interactive way!

Junior Maker Kits can be checked out for two weeks. Kits are listed in the catalogue so you can place a hold if a kit isn’t available. You can find the list of available Kits here:

Kits Include:

  • Electronic Snap Circuits (A building set using safe and fun electrical circuits)
  • Circuit Beats (An activity set that makes music out of almost anything)
  • Code & Go Mouse Mania (A board game that teaches coding)
  • Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity Set (A coding set that involves building and coding a programmable mouse)
  • Origami Set
  • Makey Makey (A circuit board that turns anything into keys)
  • OzoBot Bit (A miniature, programmable robot)
  • Smart Sketch Projector (A projector that teaches writing and drawing)
  • Squishy Circuits (An activity set that creates electrical circuits with conductive play dough)
  • Strawbees (A construction set using straws and connectors)
  • Code-a-Pillar (A learning toy where kids arrange and connect segments in endless combinations to make a caterpillar move in various directions)
  • Lego Mindstorms EV3 (A LEGO set that creates and commands robotic LEGO creatures, vehicles, machines and inventions. We also need to indicate that there are now 12 junior maker kits on the digital TV screens.)
