Fish Contest

What is the contest about?
The fifth annual Kids’ Fish Art Contest sponsored by The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, in conjunction with its corporate partners. is sponsoring its fifth annual Kids’ Fish Art Contest. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources is looking for artwork that depicts this years' official fish in their natural habitat. Bluegills and muskellunge are the official fish of this year’s contest.

Who can enter?
This contest is open to all students who are residents of Ontario, between the grades of four and twelve and who currently attend elementary and secondary school. Only one entry per child will be accepted.

Why should I enter?
For prizes of course! To read about the prizes click here The winning design will also be used for the 2008 Young Angler’s Licence.

How do I enter?
All entries must include:

  1. a completed entry form. Entry forms are available from your school, or online at ontario.ca/fishartcontest
  2. the artwork of your fish, (bluegill or muskellunge)
  3. a one-page composition about your fish (bluegill or
    muskellunge), its habitat, and how to protect it for future
    generations. Please include your name and address on your composition.
  4. Entries must be postmarked by December 21, 2007.
