Ride To Read this Summer

The Pickering Public Library is excited to announce a unique partnership between Durham Region Transit (DRT) and the public libraries in the Durham region this summer.

Throughout the months of July and August, elementary school children (kindergarten to grade eight) who have enrolled in the TD Summer Reading Club at their local library can ride DRT for free through the Ride to Read program. When they register for the summer Reading Club at their local library, children will receive special stickers on their library cards, which will turn their library cards into monthly transit passes.

Children will need to return to their local branch in August to get a new transit sticker. An adult will need to accompany those children 10 years of age and under, and will be required to pay the regular adult fare.

So, hope on board for a great summer of reading!
