Geocaching is Fun

Do you own a smart phone with GPS capabilities? If so, then you already have a tool you can use for geocaching. Ken Spence and Chris McDonnell, active geocachers in the Durham Region, will explain the basics of the game, guide participants through signing up for a free geocaching account and App, and take searchers on a hunt to find their first two caches. Families are welcome. Geocaching is a fun outdoor activity that can be enjoyed together. Children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

This spring the Pickering Central Library will be holding a wellness evening for adults and teens. Staff will have a variety of fitness materials on display and Lauren Grenier, Coordinator, Fitness Services from the Pickering Recreation Complex will be on hand to answer your questions. Lauren has been a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) as certified through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) for the last 8 years, and has a great deal of experience working with symptomatic and asymptomatic
populations. She has her B.A. and M.Sc. in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University and is very passionate about helping others improve their quality of life through physical activity and fitness.
The first 30 people to drop by the display will also receive pass es to try a free fitness class at the Pickering Recreation Complex.
