The Art of the Middle Eastern Oud

I originally grabbed this cd because I like Dead Can Dance, a band that uses a lot of ethnic and historical instruments. I hoped this would have similarly haunting sounds.
This was a very relaxing cd. The oud is a stringed instrument that looks pretty much like a lute. I'm not knowledgeable enough about the science of music to talk about tone, pitch etc. but this would be nice for a dinner party or to read to.
